Become a Part of ITB

The ITB Engineering Company for Technical Calculations is the ideal employer for innovative, technology-driven, and curious individuals. Since our founding in 2004 in Dortmund, we have established ourselves as a reliable and agile company with a primary focus in Germany, but also active in other European countries and India.

Our extensive expertise is valued in various industries: we conduct FEM structural calculations, strength analyses, and CFD simulations (flow simulations) for companies in the automotive, aerospace, nuclear technology, and mechanical engineering sectors. We prefer to work with software systems such as ANSYS, LS-Dyna, ANSYS CFX, and ANSYS Fluent.

As a family-run engineering firm, we offer you a stable team environment with a friendly and open working atmosphere that provides significant personal freedom and development potential. You will quickly take on responsibility for your projects and serve as the direct point of contact for our customers. Applications for CFD simulations are also welcome.

Additionally, we are seeking simulation engineers for our branch in Pune, India. Interested applicants can contact our managing director, Rushab Oswal, directly. His contact details can be found here.

An overview of the theses completed at our company can be found here (PDF).

    Students

Applying and expanding knowledge – Internship semesters, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses

We offer students the opportunity to complete their internship semesters in our company, in particular students on engineering courses, ideally mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or civil engineering; they may also prepare their Bachelor’s or Master’s theses with us.

The focal subject areas are structural mechanics, utilising FEM, and also the optimisation of components using DOE methodology.

The topics of the Bachelor’s and Master’s theses are typically motivated by customers, i.e. the topics always have a practical application, and the tasks are considered sophisticated.

      High School Students

Setting a course early on for the right choice of profession – Work taster sessions and high school work experience placements

We regularly offer high school students the opportunity to learn about our company and the occupational profile of engineers in general, e.g. in the context of work taster sessions or high school work experience placements.

      Work taster sessions

As part of a one-day work taster session for 8th and 9th grade students (age approx. 14, 15), we offer high school students the opportunity to take a first look at the world of work.

During your day at ITB GmbH, you will be supervised by one of our employees, and will learn about a wide range of fields of activity and departments within our company, such as Project Management, Administration, IT and Business Management.

You will find out what the tasks of a calculation engineer involve, and what the processes and structures within our company fundamentally look like.

If you are interested in technology, and perhaps even in the subjects Maths and Physics, and would like to spend one of your work taster days in our company, we look forward to your application.

      High school work experience placements

We offer high school students in the 10th grade (age approx. 16) the opportunity to complete their 3-week work experience placement in our company.

During the 3-week placement, you will receive an insight into the occupational profile of a calculation engineer, but we would also like to inform you about other technical and engineering professions. You will learn about our calculation programs and perform your own calculations.

In addition you will learn about other fields of activity and departments within our company, such as Administration, IT and Business Management, and will learn what the processes and structures within our company fundamentally look like.

If you are interested in technology, and in the subjects Maths and Physics, and would like to spend your 3-week work experience placement in our company, we look forward to your application.
