Software Distribution at ITB: Cradle CFD

Cradle CFD Strömungssimulation von Hexagon – Thermomanagement-Visualisierung mit Strömungslinien über transparentem Elektronikgehäuse

Since May 2025, ITB Ingenieurgesellschaft für technische Berechnungen mbH has been an official distribution partner for Cradle CFD, a powerful software solution for demanding flow and thermal simulations (Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD).

As a long-established engineering firm specializing in numerical analysis and simulation, we are not only a service provider but also a qualified partner for companies looking to build or expand their in-house CFD capabilities. Cradle CFD is a field-proven software package that is flexible and precisely tailored to industrial requirements.

What is Cradle CFD?

Cradle CFD is a modular simulation environment for solving fluid flow, heat transfer, and multiphysics processes. The product family includes specialized solvers such as:

  • scFLOW – uses contour-fitted polyhedral meshes, enabling precise simulation of complex geometries with efficient meshing
  • scSTREAM – developed for thermal applications, offering optimized workflows for electronics cooling as well as building and climate simulation

Industries and Applications

Cradle CFD is used across a range of industries, including mechanical engineering, automotive technology, energy, electronics and architecture. Within these fields, the software offers a wide range of applications:

  • Cooling of electronic assemblies (thermal management)
  • Airflow and pressure loss in technical systems
  • Vehicle aerodynamics and coolant circuits
  • Room airflow, HVAC and ventilation systems
  • Coupled simulations involving mechanical loads (e.g. thermal stress, acoustics, multi-body simulation)

Numerical simulation is particularly cost-effective for applications where physical testing would be time-consuming, expensive or safety-critical.

More Than Software Distribution – Engineering Expertise Included

What sets ITB apart from a software reseller is hands-on experience. We use Cradle CFD ourselves in customer projects, so we know the software not just from presentations or training courses but from real development practice. This means you receive advice at engineering level: honest, practical and geared to your actual requirements. We only recommend solutions we are genuinely convinced by.
