Our CFD services – simulation, consulting & optimization from one source

Let CFD simulations provide you with well-founded insights into your product’s performance.

Our CFD service is primarily aimed at companies seeking to thoroughly analyze flow or thermal applications and systematically improve their systems, without having to perform CFD simulations themselves.

We conduct the CFD simulation according to your specific needs and assist you in understanding your product. Afterwards, we present you with the simulation results and document them in a report — clearly understandable, even for non-experts in fluid mechanics.

CFD simulation on Your Behalf

Typical procedure for a CFD project with us

1. Kick-off meeting & objective clarification

We discuss your issue, examine the CAD geometry as well as boundary conditions and installation situations, present suitable tools, and set expectations. This usually takes place in an online meeting, but we can also come to you if needed.

2. Quotation & order placement

You receive a transparent offer with a defined scope of services at a fixed price. The proposal details the planned approach, project flow, and expected results.

3. Model preparation & mesh generation

We prepare your CAD geometry for simulation, simplifying non-relevant details and deriving the fluid volume. The computational mesh is then created, with relevant areas and near-wall regions particularly refined.

4. Simulation & quality control

Boundary conditions and physical models are set up in the CFD setup. The simulation is run, and results are checked (e.g., convergence, plausibility, mass and energy balance). If needed, the setup or mesh is adjusted for valid results.

5. Evaluation & documentation

Results are prepared, evaluated (qualitative and quantitative), and interpreted. The model, solution, and our interpretation are clearly documented.

6. Results discussion

In a final meeting, we review results together and discuss next steps.

  • CAD data (preferably as STEP or Parasolid)
  • Technical description of the application
  • Operating conditions (e.g., flow rates, temperatures, materials)
  • Objective: What should be evaluated or improved?

If specific information—especially material data—is missing, we are happy to help you obtain it.

  • Meaningful visualizations (flow fields, temperature distributions, pressure fields, etc.)
  • Quantitative evaluation of relevant parameters (e.g., pressure loss, heat spread, forces)
  • Interpretation of results in a technical context
Optionally: optimization suggestions or comparison of variants
  • Transparent technical report including solution path, all results, and interpretations
  • Results discussion via online meeting or in person

Typical fields of application

Our CFD services offer benefits in many areas:

  • Flow optimization: e.g., for ducts, valves, housings, and many other components through which flow passes
  • Thermal analyses: cooling concepts, heat management, hotspot detection, including time-dependent
  • Pressure loss and flow analyses: precise information on pressure losses and volume flows—even at junctions and collection tanks
  • Design studies: Influence of design changes on operating behavior – without expensive and time-consuming prototypes
  • Your personal application: As a flexible engineering firm, we do not offer “off-the-shelf” solutions. We even carry out unusual projects – entirely according to your requirements and wishes.

Why CFD services at ITB?

What our customers value us for:

  • Problem-oriented solutions: We work with you to address your specific questions using CFD simulation – not just to create colorful images.
  • Communication at eye level: Thanks to our practical experience, we have a deep understanding of your development process. We always interpret and explain the CFD results with regard to your specific requirements and situation.
  • Adherence to deadlines and flexibility: We attach great importance to meeting promised deadlines. This allows you to integrate our service into your development process with planning certainty. And if you are in a hurry, we will do everything we can to help you promptly.
  • Confidentiality: We always treat the data disclosed to us as strictly confidential. If desired, a non-disclosure agreement can be signed before the start of the project.
  • Multi-Physics: As an engineering company with over 15 engineers, we offer not only CFD simulations, but also FEM calculations, light simulation and design services. For complex applications, you receive all the services you need from a single source.
